What you watching. πŸ˜†

Speaking of old TV memories a series of Timex watch commercials in the 1970s would demonstrate how durable they were by putting then through a (seemingly) tough torture test

I can't remember if the last of those commercials I saw was a comedy skit or Timex spoofing itself (Bravo!), but it was humorous

I have watched several of this guys videos. If you like desert scenery and ancient Indian ruins I think you'll enjoy these. Unfortunately he was killed by a drunk driver about a year ago. If I were only 50 years younger...

Bugonia…possibly the trippiest movie I’ve ever seen…
Bleak, and depressing… I fink myself finding entertainment that is intellectually stimulating with a touch or two of sentiment and pleasure… Call it not necessarily moving away from the light but away from the further journeys into conspiratorial darkness.

See my previous post.

I watched The Abandons on Netflix. Pretty decent, but I'm a sucker for any kind of western. Written by Kurt Sutter (Sons of Anarchy). It was a little redundant in the sense that it follows the same western "narrative" that we see so often in the genre - the "wealthy family trying to steal land and think the law doesn't apply to them" thing. Well written, directed, and acted though. Plenty of shoot 'em ups and an engaging story line. I'd give it 8/10.

Okay so I wrote up this memory story on a Home town page . When Iwasin Kindergarden in about 1959 I was-so happy about getting my first Timex watch. Loved those hard to believe commercials. I got the watch for my birthday in March and wore it every day. At schoolHellen Baller grade school I was talking to the janitor. He was asking me about my presents. I showedhim the watch and I was obviously so proud about that. Anyway I for some reason decided to tell him about how tough the watch was. I babbled on about that and took my watch off And told him to β€œwatch this!”

So I tossed it under hand next to the brick wall as my demonstration. Just an underhand toss that hit the walk and dropped to the sidewalk exploding into a zillion pieces .

Shocked upset I-probably was fighting the need to cry. The janitor was trying to calm me down and was so kind. I can still see a vivid memory of him. It was traumatic for me at 6 years old.

I think he did more to promote the ancient histories of the desert southwest than pretty much anyone in recent memory.

LA Guinea pig rescue on YouTube. How to be a good pet parent to guinea pigs, I have a female that thinks she is a Diva.

This weekend I watched:

Football
We Are Marshall
Invincible
Varsity Blues

See a theme! All great movies! Hadn't seen them in a long while.

I watched Fallout on Prime
First show I watched in years
I like it, odd and different, in a good way though.
Not great, but entertaining for me.

Never played video games, unless you count Pong...

"Landman" S2 is good, but there's a lot of repetition. Season 1 was excellent, and I'm a Billy Bob fan, so we'll soldier through. Andy Garcia is also a welcome addition.

"Alien Earth" has been out a while. Enjoyable Sci-Fi take on the "Aliens" franchise with Palantir's founder Alex Karp getting parodied as a bonus.

Very disappointed in season 2 of "The Night Manager". After nine years (!), you'd think the writers could have come up with more realistic plotting for the follow-up to the superb debut. Both on Prime.

"Parrish" on Netflix stars Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring from "Breaking Bad") and he's good. After a promising start, my wife and I ended up abandoning the show in E5

"Task" starring Mark Ruffalo on Apple is solid throughout and recommended.

Ken Burns "The American Revolution" covers a period in our history I wanted to know more about. Unfortunately, it's biased coverage (heavy emphasis on slavery, women, people of color at the cost of the actual military and, especially, politics of the era) which reduces its value. Worth a watch for history fans.
