Bozeman launches new high end apparel company

Back to the future....
I found a pair of Red Ball urethane coated nylon stocking foot chest waders with the inflatable top ring at a IFF fair a few years back. No tags attached but appeared to had never been used. At 18 ounces, they roll up real small, and for $15, they have been great for packing into mountain lakes with a 3.5 lb float tube.

The 4mm neoprene socks and neoprene Sockwa Playa beach volleyball shoes I use to protect the stocking feet weigh almost as much as the waders.

If they ever wear out I have my first pair of waders; Browning stockingfoot PVC coated nylon that weigh about 6 ounces more.
they look like they have plenty of room to grow into

Admittingly, it has been a while since I've been out for a night on the town.

I didn't even recognize the R bar, the Legion (which was once a dive bar) now has granite bar tops, and we ate at a place called Open Range where you were charged $6 for "bread service" and horseradish for your $60 cut of meat was extra.

Understanding fashion, I knew the evening would require a dressier, mountain casual.

Upon leaving dinner I put on my scarf, my tailored wool pea coat that is a nice blend of classic structure but with modern twists, and finished it off with a pair of black leather driving gloves. My friend said it looked like I was heading out to the opera. Perfect.

My wife was also looking hawt and it was obvious we were turning heads.

At its core, this is Bozeman on a Saturday night.

are real fur coats a fashion NO-NO , how about a 15x black Tom Mix Stenson ?

I was lazy and used an internet photo, my Red Balls are a size medium. I wear size large in shirts and trousers, but the waders are a good fit over a baselayer and an insulating midlayer.

I kind of feel like I'm already living there...only with better fishing and skiing.
Have you checked out this guy yet? He's the son of a friend of ours.
In reading the article it mentions that he likes to flyfish...Ya might want to offer to show your rowing skills.:D

My first pair of light weight waders were those Red Ball Nylon coated stocking foot waters. Mine leaked in the toes out of the box. Don't remember what I paid for the. But I don't think I paid 15 bucks for them. I tried to seal them but it didn't happed. So I went out and got some light weight wader made by Bare. Blue in color. When I put them on I didn't need a wader belt. I had to squeeze my 270 lb. into them. I looked like a full Cannoli.

Seriously though, what is hardcore about fly-fishing?
What I see on the "Genryu Izakaya" YT channel looks hardcore to me. An "izakaya" is an informal Japanese bar that serves alcoholic drinks and snacks, like an Irish pub. These hardcore wilderness genryu (translated headwaters) anglers combine sawanobori (translated shower or waterfall climbing) with fishing and will hike 13 hours over extremely steep terrain to get to the water they want to fish. These two vids have English sub-titles but I enjoy their other videos even without being able to understand the dialogue and captions.

Check out this one as they have to swim through a ravine @ about 11:16

Heavy rain and high water don't stop them

I wish I was 40 years younger and could do stuff like that again.

Here is some of their stylish hardcore wardrobe

I notice a lot of Montbell apparel too.

Heh of course we find the prices outrageous, but then again, most of us are not the target demographic. If they end up being successful, I can see them selling out to some hedge fund clown, and really make a rip in cash.

Knowing a skwala hatch exists makes you “really in the know?”

And their sh*t looks and seems to function like everyone’ else’s stuff. Not saying I’ll never try it. If it’s good, it’s good. That said, it’s going to be tough for them to stand out. I see no innovation and their marketing is cringeworthy.

Exact same thing I was wondering. I remember fishing the Bitterroot in March back in the 90's, when it was pretty much a "secret". Eventually people started showing up earlier and earlier. The last time I fished the Root during the skwala hatch was probably 8 or 10 years ago, in February, and there were tons of other boats. So no, I don't think that knowing the skwala hatch exists makes you "in the know"

True. Typically an early to mid-April hatch, but once word got out dudes would try to will it into existence earlier and earlier. In 1990 nobody in Washington and few in MT even knew what a skwala was.
