Bozeman launches new high end apparel company

Do they make brewery or drag racing tshirts and cargo shorts? Mine are kinda wearing out. And I need a new MRFC hat.

Dang... They have so many categories/items out-of-stock. First impressions are so important. Not sure I would open a store with such limited stock on hand...

Absolutely.
But people wear their expensive gear to go food shopping in Bozeman.
I avoid Bozeman on my travels to and from Billings. The last time I stopped there was maybe 10 years ago to pick up a Schnee's hat at a friend's request.
Oh, I also fell for the cluster of getting to the rest stop ONCE. (Admin's, we need a better Roll Eyes emoji):)

All the existing stock has been sent out to hardcore Instagram influencers (but only the ones that are in the secret society of anglers that know of our little olive colored friend the Skwala).

At this point, how more more cliche can you be...high end fly fishing brand launches in Bozeman?! I might be more interested in it if they'd launched in Eufaula, Oklahoma or something.

Wow, I must say the guy has guts to start a business like that. After the way fly shops are closing I would think it would be a terrible time to start that kind of business. But, with all the Californians moving to Montana he might do well. Wonder if they actually produce their products of buy from overseas.

Lotta more money than sense instagrammer/ Influencer trustfunder types who spend all day pointing our what's cool and what's not cool while online.
They save on postage that way...being right in Bozeman.
;)

My favorite

“As much as anything it was about this idea that we want to build the gear for like, the hardcore people that are really in the know and the skwala hatch kind of falls into that,”

Are you core? Then Skwala is the brand for you.

Knowing a skwala hatch exists makes you “really in the know?”

And their sh*t looks and seems to function like everyone’ else’s stuff. Not saying I’ll never try it. If it’s good, it’s good. That said, it’s going to be tough for them to stand out. I see no innovation and their marketing is cringeworthy.

I must be Missing the sarcasm…2 shirts, 2 shorts/ pants, 2 waders and 4 jackets. 50% is coming soon. Not sure I’d start a company that way but I guess the Bozeman-ites need another brand to rep.

Somehow that image seems somewhat familiar.

Just seems like a goofy genesis story and a lousy way to come into the market in my opinion.

We've seen this story before...reference Cloudveil 2007-2010. Brand steps into high end side of the fly fishing apparel market with a seemingly decent product line and established outdoor industry insiders. Throws out a price-point that matches the absolute top tier premium products in the industry. The product, however, offers nothing seemingly revolutionary to justify why a consumer would choose it over a more established brand with a proven product line.

I have a feeling we will see history repeat itself as they try to compete with established brands at premium price-points and also unfortunate timing by launching just before an economic downturn and consumers snapping their wallets shut.

That said...good luck to them.

Hey Skwala, send me some stuff so I can promote it to my 10 IG followers.

I don't know very much but my last pair of chest highs I bought 20 years ago. I only paid 129 bucks for them and they still don't leak.

If your going to sell to fly fisherman. Maybe they need to lower their prices a little bit. You can buy a hoodie for a lot less than 89 bucks. That's why I wear my old clothes.
in your case old man ,those would be Vintage clothes
