Wading pants are kinda awesome for summer fishing. Dryft is a kinda awesome PNW wader company. Put those two things together and you get The Dryft SEEKR wading pants. Add it to PNWFF, and you get a review article written by a dork in a plaid shirt.

BONUS!
The Dryft crew has just announced a winter sale on most of their product line. So if you are at all interested in the SEEKR waders (or any other Dryft stuff), now is a great time to check them out:

Report back on how it goes! Been considering some myself

Bought some Dryft wading pants (Session) for my partner for when she wants to hit the lake with me in the pontoon. She loves them and the construction is wonderful. I will caveat and say she hasn't taken them out in real cold weather/water as that's a tougher sell to get her to tag along. I'll probably replace my cheapo Frogg Togg chest waders and wading pants with some when the time comes.

I have been using waist high waders for over a dozen years now and haven't had a pair of chest waders on during that time except to plow snow with my tractor. I'm not sure what the difference is between wading pants and waist high waders except for nomenclature, they seem to function just the same and have the same advantages of being cooler in summer, easier to pee out of and easy on-easy off. It appears that the words "wading pants" roll off the tongue more easily than "waist high waders" and that alone should be worth another $100 to the fly fishing community.

I love the ideal and concept of these wading pants. Only issue is finding the closest size that fits my unusual body type. I am 6'5" 240 LBS with a 34x34 pants size and size 13 foot. A large long looks like a pretty close fit, but I have this same issue with a lot of hip waders of where the waist is too big and the foot is too small/tight. I would like to try on in a store somewhere, I am not big on shipping and returning when I am trying to find the right fit and for $224 - I would want the best fit I could possibly get with out shipping and returning three different pairs.

But I a still very intrigued and would love an opportunity to try some on.

I am a big fan of DRYFT! Been wearing their waders now for three years, I have the Primo Zip and the wading pants (great for the summer months).

I am 6'7" with 36" inseam w/size 14/15 feet and the wading pants fit well and I can comfortably move around without any restrictions, or my feet being squashed.

Mine came today.
I opened the box and
That's as far as I've gotten.
Hope I don't regret buying the light ones for the Rockies but the rainbow pattern on the ass of the heavier ones concerned me.

You find this concerning?

Interesting.

I looked at these. It's interesting. Back in 2007 I bought a pair of Simms Rivertech waist high waders. Still have them though I don't wear them regularly. They have a nylon tube that pulls up to chest high along with a strap for deeper wading. So these look like regular denim jeans. They are not innovative by any stretch other than the denim look. My brother has a pair of Aquaz waist highs about five years ago. While this is a Northwest company and very, very reputable, don't be fooled by the model. Waist highs have been around for a long time and they are a really good option for folks who like their upper body free of binding of shoulder straps. The price is right. Dryft is a great company. It's too bad there isn't a way to try them out.

Dryft having a 20% off sale, ordered a pair of the lighter ones for early season boat launching and summer wading. The blue color looks a bit flash, why not a mellow sage green or gray...they have free returns, which is a good thing.

I'm sure they're fine, but IMO, if the water is warm enough for me to wear pants while wading, it's too warm to fish for trout. Bass, maybe.

Where I fish in the Rockies they will be money and might save from an early season juvenile snake bite.
