The old Gardiner Road is schedule to open on Nov 1. This is the new route from Gardiner to Mammoth. Does this mean that this opens the route to the Lamar and Cooke City? That is what I understand from the websites. It sounds like the route to Cooke will be open but with some construction and closures. Correct me if I am incorrect.
Was the Silver City entrance open for part of the summer? Did any of you venture in that way to get to the Lamar? I can imagine that the Lamar was a mellower place this past summer and that the wildlife and trout were given a much deserved break. Am curious if any of you were in there (if it was open) and what you saw and caught?
