cut back on the craft fur (in addition to color change), added a layer of bucktail to give it depth, then titan dubbed the head. ~3" total length

Nick is thinking off shore and I’m thinking coho from the beach.

A couple more for SRC.

Sorry, one more chum fry…

I like fishing hornbergs but don't have much practice tying them. The mallard breast feathers are tricky. Here's my current attempt.

Years ago I used to fish those, looks like a dry but I always had luck stripping it wet. I tied it more with the mallard stem in line with the shank, and brown grizzly tips as I had no jungle cock eye. That was one of the flies that taught me not to fish certain wind resistant fly styles with too long and fine a leader, which helps me fish stimulators now. Great tie.
Wonder what a soft light partridge in back and a spidered dark brown up front for a soft hackle wet streamer, humm...?

A bit of a departure from the original nymph pattern although most of the ingredients remain intact.

tail - pheasant tail
rib - small wire silver
underbody - tying thread

An experimental daphnia cluster.

Hook: Daiichi 1720 #10
Thread- Chartreuse UTC 70
Tail: reddish brown marabou
body: Angora goat with cooper flash- spun in a loop wrapped and teased out
hotspots: chartreuse and hot orange UV resin

I expect this to catch fish, but not so sure about the durability of the hot spots

Had to move my tying stuff to the basement for the evening. First 2 things I pulled out of the bag I shoved everything in were a dyed hackle and chartreuse yarn; I took this as a sign.

hook - WFC Model 3 #10
thread - Uni 8/0 chartreuse
tail - yarn chartreuse
rib - small wire silver
underbody - tying thread
body - medium tinsel pearl
body hackle - dyed chartreuse (1 Tbs Rit Neon Yellow/1 cup water)
thorax - Ice Dub peacock black
shoulder - pheasant rump dyed chartreuse
collar/head - pronghorn dyed black (1 Tbs Rit Dark Brown/1 cup water overdyed with 1 Tbs Rit Black/1 cup water)

Regards,
Scott
