Fun to see your flies in action Scott. That fly looks a lot like one I copied last fall and had good luck with.

Tying small 24 sz parachutes is quite challenge. I guess they will be too small to cast with my 3wt Orvis superfine. I will use my Whitecloud tenkara rod for them. :rolleyes:

I struggled with calf body hair all weekend. I think aspects of the material and technique in this fly probably require more advanced skills than I have.

Looks good! Sometimes with tricky material like this (looking at you, squirrel tail) I take a thread loop around the material only and pull that loop down onto the hook with the next thread wrap.

That’s a solid idea. I’m going to come back to that pattern in a week a or two. I’ll give it a shot.
