Beautifully done. And what an interesting selection of colors.
Jesus that muddler
That's what the general part of the reply referred to.That’s a good example, Except the hook he is asking about and showing is a jig hook.
Technically speaking, Daiichi, Gamakalsu and Fulling Mill refers to them as; 90-degree Jig hooks. No where did I find them descripted as up-turned eye hooks. So, in reality that's our actual true fly hook terminology lesson for today. That's what the general part of the reply referred to.
And to be über-technical, that would be an up-turned eye in its usage.
And that's our lesson in fly hook terminology today. Drive carefully and sweet dreams.
Keep up the good work. I think it was A.K. best who said, “You really don’t know a fly until you tie the first hundred dozen”.CDC and deer hair caddis and Endrick spider. Both patterns I saw on this forum.
I started tying a couple months ago because I enjoyed looking at the work posted by users here.
The proportions of my flies are still inconsistent and I regularly use too much of all materials but it’s fun and they’re getting better.
I really appreciate the good work, enthusiasm, and solid information displayed here.
