Very nice. I’ve seen and tied it with purple hackle. Been sitting in my box for a long time. I’ll give it another try next summer.

Steelhead
I've never hooked a steelhead on a fly with dumbell eyes and rarely fish/tie them. They cast worse, look far less sexy to my discerning eyes, snag way more... but, I felt inspired thinking of a few runs that might fish well with either some profile or some suck-egg action, and I bet there's gonna be one or two times this year where I'm going to be happy that there's a few in the box and I won't want to fish anything else.

A beefy 3.5" for the dirty dirty...
