Billy, what hook are you using for those big boys?
Are the dry hackles weighted?Micro Leech, Soft Hackle, Dry Hackle
The dry hackle was very effective my last outing. It would sink a couple feet below the surface. Floating line, naked line style retrieve. Money..

Did you by any chance hold them hook eye up and run hot water over them? I think a lot of my synthetic dubbing flies are too fat including three I tied this morning. I held them under HOT tap water and thought the wetted material looked better (slimmer).//PatFor me, the hardest thing to do when using dubbing and dubbing loops is making it sparse enough. All those leech are too fat and I was trying for skinny ones. Ugg..
I too am a fan of the hot water dip and shaping with simiseal and the like. Those jigs Billy liked in the other thread weren't dipped, and it took a while to get them sculpted they way the fish wanted today.Did you by any chance hold them hook eye up and run hot water over them? I woke up early and will get to watch the sun rise before I go hit slack low tide and the first couple hours of incoming. I haven’t been on the vise much lately but I wanted a lighter version of what worked the last time I foolishly flung flies into the vast Pacific surf. Pulling from all my tying techniques I managed to produce this beauty. Based on a Jock Scott.
Beautiful Tie @Zoran.
