tail - deer hair (spun)
rib - xsmall wire silver
body - Ice Dub hare’s ear grey
hackle - grizzly
shoulder - golden pheasant body feather red
collar/head - deer hair

Bert Miner of Doaktown, New Brunswick, originated this pattern in the 1940s.

Hook - Single Salmon
Tip - Lower half, fine silver wire; the upper half, yellow floss
Tail - Golden pheasant crest feather
Ribbing - Oval silver tinsel
Body - Embossed silver tinsel
Hackle - Orange tied on as a collar and tied back and down;
then a small bunch of guinea fowl barbs are tied in at the throat
*Wing - Gray squirrel tail tied low over the body

*The original pattern had barred mallard sections for the wings

Tail - Golden pheasant crest feather
Butt - Fluorescent orange floss
Body - Peacock herl. Reverse wrapped with fine gold wire
Hackle - Orange tied on as a collar and tied back and down
Wing - Dyed green gray squirrel tail tied low over the body
Topping - Strands of green Flashabou Accent

Trailer - Single strand of fluorescent green floss from center top of end of body
Body - Rear half, fluorescent green floss; the front half, peacock herl

What kind of hook is that??
Likely the wrong type of hook as I'm generally still totally confused by hook type, size across brands.

Short answer - I think it's a Firehole general purpose maybe a size 10, they run large in gap and shank length.

I'm tying for practice, and to build up some skills/knowledge.
