I tied some of these small bunnies with gold beads in the past for jumbo trout. I’m experimenting with orange and chartreuse beads to see if that makes any difference. I was surprised to discover a UV fluorescence on this tungsten bead.
Hook- 2XL
Tail- black bunny
Flask- pearlescent mylar
Hackle- crosscut black bunny spun in a
Dubbing loop
Bead- 5/32” fl. chartreuse tungsten
2” OAL fly length

A couple of Hairwing Hare Wet Fly 's . Fist attempt light (grey squirrel), second dark (pine tail, red wing). Need to sort some materials and look for feather sizes. Kinda cool how the base fly can be modified for different dropper positions as well. Probably need warmer weather before they can be fished, but maybe a bluebird midday.

First ones were sz. 10, now down to sz. 14, about as small as I can do I think. I used to have good luck with a picket pin in the cascades but it's not as good here. I'm hoping these will fish similar, and being in hare's ear tones will work better.

I really like that fly! It looks like you could gink it and fish it dry, fish it wet, or sink it in a team with your BH hare's ears. I'd fish that all day long!
Is the yellow in the back marabou or stiffer feather fibers, or something else?

Hook - Single Salmon
Thread - Red
Tip - Flat silver tinsel
Tail - Single strand of fluorescent pink floss
Rear Body - Fluorescent pink floss
Trailer - Single strand of fluorescent pink floss tied over rear half of body and extending to tip
Front Body - Dubbed with purple rabbit fur
Hackle - Purple tied on as a collar and tied back and down, then dyed purple/blue guinea fowl tied on as a collar and tied back and down
Wing - White bucktail tied over the body, with a sparse over wing of purple bucktail
Cheeks - Jungle cock eyes or substitute

That is the red squirrel tail, same as the wing, very sparse. Still playing with lighting and backgrounds to get the colors I actually see.
I can visualize it being fished several ways as well. Most likely a vertical tightline, hairwing up top, softhackle middle position, BHGRHE point. When I set this up is when I thought those 10's looked big. I could swap out the BH for a GRHE nymph for horizontal or wet fly swinging as well.
Check out @Mark Melton 's Neophylax rickeri entomology post. I see lots of caddis, and the fish seem to react to the wets I've used as caddis stages 24/7/365. Although I think it's general enough the fish can see it as whatever they might want.

I have next week off so I'm hoping this upcoming cold spell doesn't put down the BWO's
A handful of size 20 quill bodied BWO's. Dubbed bodies are so much easier, but the quill bodies look so much nicer. It's almost impossible for me to take a good photo, which is odd since I'm a creative 🤷♂️
I have some 22 hooks that I'll try and tie up a few, I've never tied that small.
