Working with the intermediate line. Probably wrong time of day, as no takers on the chiro or cruncher, but the stockers did like the boobie.

Crappie like the chartreuse bead leech too. Yellow seemed to be the key.

Tuesday and Wednesday they weren't eating on top much at all, a little bit once the sun got off the water in the evening but this soft hackle was consistent swung on an intermediate 10' tip during mid day and absolutely lights out in the evenings.
The fish shredded several.

Washing line rig. A diving caddis was the only thing that worked in front, a Higas SOS, and a black and white boobie.

Got the right conditions, and had a good day. I had tied the boobie with the cottonwood hatch in mind. Didn't count on these guys though.

I prefer to call them strike indicators.

Was this your first time with the Washing Line technique? It really has me wanting to try it out.

I've played with the setup a couple times in a row now, today was the first day the weather and fish were really cooperative. The type 6 with buggers and leeches got a couple, but the intermediate line washing line setup was better today. I saw bombers on the window screen last night but no takers on a starling and peacock or black gnat. Maybe the 6# dropper in front should be a 5#. I used a 5' tapered leader butt to .010" and a ring, 18" 6#, 4' 5#, 4' 4#.

Thanks, Tom -
I didn't realize you were using the washing line technique on a type 6 sinking line. Huh (that's what Virgil Flowers would say). I'm going to try this with an intermediate line. //Pat

No, sorry I was confusing. I was using the intermediate line with the washing line setup. I had another rod with a type 6, leech and bugger, to compare outcomes with.

Tequila Boobies and the Stupid Stocker Leeches. Sounds like bad B grade fish porn.

Several times they both worked at the same time.

Working 'em on the intermediate line. Fished best with the boobie on the point.

Was fishin’ for planters at the local power bait lake last weekend and a couple politely pulls up a piece of bank beside me. She’s immediately into a nice sized fish and he follows suit shortly. She looks at him and harasses him on the size. I look at them both and say… “I guess size really does matter.” We all had a good laugh…😁
