RIP Tom Verlaine

I definitely went through a Tom Verlaine phase. It still sounds good to me.

This i did not know! Damn. Collected Toms lps. Some have challenged me but i have come around to truly count him as one of my long time favorites. As a writer arranger and guitarist that epitomizes the importance of that space between sustains bends and the incredible notes

Not for everyone, but after watching Netflix’ Hallelujah Leonard Cohan a Journey a Song realizing how great a poet he was. Great history of his life and career which had an assist by Judy Collins. His voice was such that you really had to focus on the lyrics to enjoy. If you need to go to a “good place” Leonard could take you there.
His song Suzanne always speaks to me as, yeah, I had a Suzanne late in HS and early college. Still see her in my mind and it’s still 1967.
