Super surprised to see this! Thanks for the mental time machine.

They were great live. They played The Nick in B'Ham, AL in 1990 or so and came over to my best friend's house (we both lived just up the street) and partied with us until very, very late. Really cool guys with an innovative act back then. It was just two guys with the singer/harmonica player sitting in a rocking chair on a wooden box stomping his feet for percussion.

I also like music that's somewhat "out there" from the mainstream. I've been pondering how to post this here...
NY pianist Scott Bradlee's Postmodern JukeBox YT channel came across my feed last week. Scott's "creatively unusual" (to say the least) arrangements, the musicians, vocalists, *and dancers* he lines up; even the production of covers of various styles of rock, grunge, pop, new wave, CW... you name it, are simply amazing.

And he takes this show on the road!

While each of the tunes can stand on their own merits for artistry, the downside for me is I've probably only heard 1% of the original tunes PMJB covers, so I rarely "get" all of the "creativity" involved in them.

*edit* This really looks-sounds like a live production - Wow, just Wow 😲

and this...

OK, I'll stop now

Performance art as opposed to audio recordings. The quintessential live performance.

Obviously he has a lot of live performance talent from the Broadway scene to choose from. I think that's why I like it so much.
