What are you listening to?

Don't subscribe to streaming services so can't post the videos, just want people to have some idea of what they're getting. That's why I started with the descriptor ambient, if you're not interested, move on. 😉

And, oh, lifelong audiophile so yeah, I geek out on the details.
Not sure why you are replying to me? I was supporting your original post. More power to anyone who enjoys music, no matter how they enjoy it.

Several of you responded to your post, it was just general acknowledgment.
Eh, everyone enjoys music in different ways. Some folks love the details, some folks just love the grooves. Sort of like fly fishing. Some folks dig deep into tying flies and local Entomology, other folks just tie something on the line and toss it out there.

Ok, and...??? Sorry, I just don't get the point on geeking out on details. Just sit back and enjoy it. If not your tastes, move on...
And yet, you wasted the time to write this.....what?.....little diatribe? To what end? What is it you wish to accomplish?

Lets move on and continue promoting that positive vibe. I dig your name Joe. I am a very big Buddy Guy fan, and plan one day to visit Chicago and his Legends blues club! Did you get exposed to any good Blues there? If so would love suggestions. :)

Not actually from Chicago, it's a joke off a comedy album. But am a monster Cubs fan. 😃 As far the blues go , liked the usual suspects, SRV, BB King, Rory Gallagher, Joe Bonamassa (had the pleasure of seeing Joe, six rows back right in front of him, tearing it up all night long on the electric on his birthday. Most awesome blues show I ever witnessed).

As for somewhat lesser lights, I would recommend:
Gary Moore: awesome player who dedicated himself to the blues later on in his career. He was a pretty hot player, I think Albert King called him "hotter than pepper pie". But he really dialed it back for the 'Blues for Greeny' album if that's more to your tastes.

Tony McPhee & the Groundhogs: He single-handedly invented progressive blues before anyone knew it was a thing and is a superb slide player ( see the 'Slide Tony, slide album for that). And when John Lee Hooker toured England with the 'Hogs (they named the band after his song 'Groundhog Blues'), he liked them so much he rode in their shitty little van than in his own tour bus. There's an album 'Hooker and the 'Hogs' that chronicles that time. They also collaborated with Billy Boy Arnold that's worth checking out.

But before I'm accused of geeking out that should give you something to check out. Come back if you want more.

A couple of ambient issues:

Kosmogon: Mässan
Featuring Nicklas Barker of Swedish band Anekdoten on orgel, mellotron, arp odyssey, & ljudband and Sophie Linder on mellotron, logan string melody, & elektronik.
With no beat and no readily discernable melody, the music still gives a feeling of going somewhere and has a depth that fulfills Brian Eno's description as "music that is as ignorable as it is listenable." RIYL: Tangerine Dream, Robert Fripp soundscapes or ambient music in general.

Jon Durant & Stephan Thelen: Crossings
Two experimental guitarists, one Swiss and the other from Portland, Oregon, exchanged files during lockdown and came up with this little gem. RIYL Durant's other outlet, Burnt Belief• Emergent, an outfit featuring Colin Edwin of Porcupine Tree and drummer Vinnie Sabitini. Nicklas can be found on psych-jamming outfit My Brother the Wind and classic horror movie soundtrack referencing Symphonic Holocaust by Morte Macabre. Thelen is guitarist and sound designer in Sonar and a Guitar Craft student.

Swedish lesson for the day, orgel translates as organ and ljudband translates as magnetic tape or samples in this case.
I do enjoy Anekdoten and Morte Macabre and others mentioned. Anekdoten is a favorite. Nice post and share
