I wonder if the creek through the little hike in lake is opening some water??
That lake (I think I know which one you mean) has bad memories for me. Last time I fished it, it was just after ice out. So, I wore my drysuit, just to be safe as I was using an old tube I hadn’t used in years. Well, I forgot to close the relief zipper! I had ice water where one never hopes to have it! 🥶

The early season trips can be extra challenging. Walking in with a pile of gear that hasn’t been used for months presents opportunities to quickly discover what isn’t working or needs maintenance/replacement!
Remember that first trip? I had those old leaking hunting waders. Tuffed it out and got that first true donkey.

I think I told you at one point if I start acting weird I was probably suffering from hypothermia😂

And the first couple trips in lower-40's water is just brutal on my feet! I do get used to it but man, those first outings . . .mandatory shore breaks to warm up every 2-3 hours.

Here to say hello at my favorite sub-forum.

Hoping to get my gear squared away for maybe next week or the week after. I’m bummed I was too busy this past week. The weather conditions was what I was looking for.

Ya made it! Still hope to catch you on land sooner than later, an MWB outing perhaps. Place looks a bit different but still holds a few slabs...

You managed your leak when we went out until I finally found fish. We did hit another spot that I hooked the carp under an indicator though, so all good.

Just dropped off! I am looking forward to putting this through the ringer. @Buzzy good call on having a spare tip ready to go. I'll have to do that.
You'll need it. I broke tip on my echo lago 10' 5wt landing a trout in a Columbia basin seep lake last spring.
I was in my float tube rod lifted high overhead leading the trout to the net and pulled rod further to the rear and heard the sickening SNAP many of us are familiar with.
Echo has info on their website about
this exact problem. I wish I'd read it earlier. 😖
