My daughter lives and works in Berlin. A coworker from Ukraine sent these interesting facts to her.
This is meant to be informative and not to start a pissing match.

A coworker of mine shared this today - they're from Ukraine.

Those nighttime Webcam shots of explosions on the horizon always get to me. I cant help but think how scary that must be to be watching first hand.

I dont know much about Ukraine but somewhere right now there's probably a man my age, with a wife and kid, maybe he loves to fish, who is watching this unfold out of his window and is scared out of his mind.

Humans just can't stop killing other humans.

I like to ask my patients over 90 about ww2. One British lady said they could tell by the click (sound) of the bomb doors on the planes overhead whether they needed to run to the shelter or not😮

The big unknown is what's China going to do, Invade Taiwan or stand down , all powers involved have nukes a problem we didn't face in Iraq or Afghanistan .
I think China waits to see who jumps to Ukraine's aid (unfortunately, "who" can also be an "if"). On the other hand, I think the US jumps to Taiwan's aid more readily than Ukraine's due to a less formal defense pact than NATO, which obviously Ukraine is not a part of.

Hoping to see Finland join NATO soon 🤞 been a long time due... Let's see those 64 F-35's they ordered streaking over Moscow.

I just listened to the Ukrainian Ambassador to the UN at the UN ask for Russia to be removed from the UN Security Council and General Assembly. A very well spoken, heartfelt as well as passionate speech. Unfortunately the current head of the UN Security, which rotates monthly, is the Russian Ambassador. Sheesh...

Likely voyaging too far into politics for this site's liking, but I'm intrigued by the Ukrainian ambassador's speech to the UN security council... Why should the Russian Federation alone by the sole inheritor to the USSR permanent UNSC seat? Ukraine was the second largest portion of the former USSR. They were a nuclear power until giving them (and all HEU) to Russia as a part of the Budapest Memorandum, which supposedly guaranteed that several former USSR "satellite states" would remain sovereign and independent for deproliferating.

Seems like there was a long term plan , if so quite cunning politics.

Damn, sure would be a shame if Lithuanian and Polish troops got lost on a training exercise and accidentally liberated the independent region of Königsberg...
