Stream bug id help

Found this one inside my gator cuff yesterday after getting out of a cobbled mid elevation stream in the blue mountains. Kinda moves like a caterpillar. Looks like a fish would eat it, and at 1/4", big enough to be worth imitating. Any help with an ID would be appreciated as always.

Hi Tom-

I believe it to be a Crane Fly larva, possibly (but not necessarily) of genus Antocha.
Thanks @Taxon , when I started looking at the stuff Mark posted I thought the crane fly looked close, or Hemerodromia. There is an abundance of crane flies in our area.
When I first saw it all I could think of was water bears, but it was way too big.

Thanks guys. I think with the restoration work to create some braided/off main channel areas I may see more in the future.

I think it's an Athericdae sp. (Water Snipe Fly). Below are some links. It's on page 11 of this pdf.

That is really what it looked like before it dried a bit and got darker and slowed down.
