Probably one of the coolest things I’ve encountered or found on the beach. A polychaete worm orgy with thousands of worms piled up in just a short little section of beach.
All the different colors of the worms was pretty enlightening when it comes to tying up marine worm patterns.

When I was 14 and on a Spring Break trip to Cannon Beach with my family, we found an almost completely decomposed human body on the beach. Like a halloween skeleton with only some bits of connective tissue and shreds of denim to convince you otherwise. I’ll never forget the way it moved languidly with the ebb and flow of the tide… My sister and I warded off the gulls while my parents found someone with a cell phone to call the police—it was the early 2000s so that was a bit of an easter egg hunt on a not very crowded beach. We watched as a county park employee trundled up in a golf cart, wrapped the body up in a tarp, and then drove away (pretty sure that’s not how they do it in all the detective series I watch…)

It turned out to be the guy who produced the TV show “Cops”. I wasn’t fishing, but that was definitely my most memorable beach find, and Spring Break for that matter.

Found this last year while beach fishing, saw this creepy little face staring up at me. I immediately recognized it as nature’s version of the scream by Edward Munch ! this painting last sold for 20 million. So I’d be willing to part with this piece for a fraction of that …. say 3 million, no low ball offers - I know what I have here.634954EC-628A-4BD5-93AE-5B5F452CB54A.jpeg

Or is that the head of an alien whose ship crashed in the sound?
