Whatever is coming out of that canine corpse looks wrong--like maybe it was taxidermied?
Not sure. Looked like guts to me.

Somebody shooting coyotes?
Maybe dumping them there. I’ve seen coyotes there, but definitely not an area where people would be shooting them.

In the Gruesome archives, found Bambi in a similar state to that Beaver on April 1st. Not what I wanted or expected to find.

I found most all of the pieces for this guy on a this beach, but after a while, I felt bad that I had taken the sum of his parts and removed them from their place of origin. I decided the best thing to do would be to return my friend to where he came. This would not be an easy task. It meant paddling a while with this in the Yak. I kinda like this figurehead but it ruins the cartopping ease...

As we got closer you could tell he was communing with the ancients, with whom he would soon be reunited.

Look at the smile on his face, just absolutely hamming it up! He's the only one with teeth so why not flash those hawthorne darts

The ancients responded to my offering by clearing the marine layer out, which basically shut down the fishing but made for some pretty delightful final me and you time...

What a gas on the wooden merry-go-round!

Alas, my friend, I left you, not on this perch I might add, but a safer, kinder spot

The gods of wooden tides were kind. There were fish, and I am 99% sure I landed a steelhead. Much larger and stockier than the current crop of SRC and with more rainbowed-up hues and no gill slash, around 20 inches and sooo fun!

20" with rainbow colors? Pretty small for steelhead, possibly the elusive puget sound cuttbow? Very cool

It's really not an uncommon size for wild summer runs around here.
This is not something I learned from successfully angling for them, btw. Just for full disclosure. I suck at catching those things.
