I made it up to my somewhat local mountain lake.
Luckily WSDOT does a good job keeping the road clear.

There is still a lot of snow in the hills.

The fishing was slow to start. I attributed the slow start to a lack of rods in the boat;).

I started off fishing a jig leech on a type 3 line. I found some random fish, but nothing consistent. After a few hours I switched over to a type 6 line and a jig leech with an ultraviolet bead. This was the ticket and I started catching fish with some consistency.

I didn’t catch anything huge. But they were pretty.

Hi Paul,
Looks like you had a blast... With that snow in the background, I suspect that the water temperatures were cool, perhaps even cold...

I truly enjoy the details about type 3 vs. 6 and selection of flies. It will help others, me included, where to start and make necessary adjustments as warranted.

Thank you for including that info.
