Solar Eclipse April 8th 2024

Thought I'd add this on its own for more eyes to see, perhaps? Anyone going to be in or very near the path of totality?

A friend of mine went to see things in the path of totality, said it was pretty damn cool to see in person, but they had to do some last minute driving/guessing/driving over the past couple days to clear the clouds...including this morning.
They made it though.

Based a trip out of Murfreesboro TN visiting a family member and followed cloud predictions for the path of totality through Missouri and Illinois. We settled on Carbondale, IL the night before the eclipse and got lucky with clear skies. Took some shots up to and including totality with a wide angle lens and a few quick shots with the telephoto of the main event. Pretty cool setting on a lake with a cardinal breaking into its evening chorus right next to us as the temperature dropped and lighting became dusk like. Friends from IL witnessed the last eclipse in 2017 from their boat on the lake and claimed fish started jumping all around them just prior to totality.

Three and a half hour drive into the zone getting to Carbondale the morning of, nine hours to get back home!
