This cascade foothills pond is a 1.2 mile walk along a road and some game trails. It's best in May and June. Para Adams and I hiked our bamboo rods into the pond today. I caught fish on a 7'6" Phillipson 5 weight and size 14 butcher, mallard and claret and invicta wet flies on an intermediate line. Ron caught fish on a self built 8' Payne 201 taper and what else - an adams. Here he gingerly approaches the edge of the spugnum bog...
makes a cast and waits...
and lands one of the pond's small cutts...
Not fast fishing but great company and a delightful start to the bamboo fishing season. "Cutthroat are the puppy dogs of the fishing world" said Ron after one fish took a twitched adams dry.
