So thi will be my first FULL season of fly fishing. Super stoked. Water might still be a little high over here on the west side and I hear the stoneflies are kicking off over on the big D, but with a half dozen of these 14”-16”today I don’t see the point in trekking over east… it’s hard fishing, but theres NO ONE on this river. A little dink swiped at the dry, was about to recast, wound up being a hook set on the dropper with this guy! Terrible photo, as I was about to release myself back in to the river with him, but I had to get a shot though.

Nice! I fished my favorite cutthroat stream Saturday, expecting much the same experience you had, but save for one 15-incher, it was just a few dinks. Learned later that I had been fishing behind others (the river I fished was not what I would call crowded, but there were some folks out fishing and paddling). Going to try a neighboring stream tomorrow, after the holiday crowd goes home.

It's always great to get back in moving water!
