I had a rare weekend free with wife and kids out of town. So what else was I to do but load up the kayak and drive to a region I've been wanting to explore for years in eastern WA. I also had the chance to finally meet the legendary @Roper and Scotty. The idea was to fish a little with them, but, well, for reasons, it didn't quite work out that way... But I did get to check out Roper's awesome property and hang out a bit with them.
The fishing was tough, but I found some rainbows and big Lahontan cutties between the 3 lakes I sampled. Beautiful area. Had a blast. Found a remote quiet base camp next to a creek after getting chased off my initial plan A site by clouds of mosquitos and crowds of campers. Will be back!
