It looks like I'll be out of the country during this summer's bamboo rod gathering. That being the case, I thought I would post some photos of one of the first bamboo rod gatherings I ever attended. These photos were taken in May of 2009, at Hancock Lake. There weren't that many of us, but usual suspects Tim Cottage & Mike Monsos were there. Kent Lufkin grilled brats. It was fun being where you could not only admire each others cane, but also actually fish them. Pic heavy, so be forewarned.

That was a FUN day Cliff, thanks for bringing the pictures forward. That lake is one of the "tree farm" lakes we frequent. The catch is you have to buy the $300 permit to access the area.

And you have to spend that $300 QUICKLY once they go online!

That was a fun time with the usual suspects but I have no idea who Pillar Rock Rods is.

All of us drew a blank on him that day. He was a bamboo rodmaker from Oregon who just happened to be up there fishing at Hancock the same day we were. Seems a little coincidental, but that's what I recall.
