OP Trip

Given how hard it is for me to peel away for bigger trips these days, decided it would take forever for me to get a steelhead on my own with how little time I can put in each year. Bit the bullet and went out for two days with a guide. Fortunately just missed the really nasty weather. It was cold, but beautiful both days. I did learn about the little toe warmer packets after being seriously worried I'd end up with frostbite.

Spent the whole first day trying to swing one up with not even a hint of a nibble. Decided to succumb to the bobber the 2nd day and finally got to see what these things look like up close.

Still spent a bunch of time swinging on the 2nd day as well and again nothing. I was just happy I didn't have to get stopped and get a 2 hr casting lesson, so that was a win. Learned a lot and felt good to be trying where at least I knew there were fish. And of course it's beautiful out there and great to have nothing but fish on my mind for a few days.
