One day glass build

A kind friend Scott gave me two 6’ 3 pc fiberglass blanks while looking for donor sections for Hotrodz projects.....I started the day at 11:00 in the shop cutting down and reshaping a premade grip. Then I cut down a reelseat and dug around for some hardware....epoxied that on and found some used Fuji single foot guides, ground the feet then picked out the wrap colors.....gold with a single black band and green accent wraps. Wrapped the guides while watching football, lastly Threadmaster’d the wraps during the second game, lawn cast it today with a 3wt.....sweet casting rod! Now I really need some fish on it! :D

Thanks! How’s the bamboo business? Still waiting for one of your killer blanks!
I’ve got my first blank still in progress in the shop. Butt sections are planed and the tip needs to be planed before I glue it all up. Life got in the way for a few years, but I’d like to at least try and get it finished this year. Maybe I should start a build thread as motivation.

Devirgized the rod today! Took it to a south end lake and went 8/18 rainbows and cutts. One cutthroat was pushing 20” and really put a bend in the rod! All were C&R’d on small chironomids under an indicator. I matched it up with a Hardy Featherweight and 3wt Sylk line.....easily cast 40’ and never hit the back of my head! I’m liking this little rod......
