Old Sage rod?

I found an old Sage rod of my dad's.




I'm assuming it was his older steelhead rod before he got his G Loomis GL 2 which is substantially lighter and a thinner blank.

Anyone know the story on this rod?

SSH seems like it could just mean "Salmon/Steelhead"

I think your right, took a better pic and that is an H, though it was a 4 LOL

Yes, "2" is the power rating which is medium/light. I have later GSH 296 that's my favorite spoon/spinner rod.

I had that exact rod. That's when they were pretty thick blanks. The ones after that had more streamlined blanks.

I found it at a garage sale. I thought it was a glass rod at first. I used a 201SG on mine. Almost put a 5001C on it to balance it out.

It is a glass rod. They are in the 82 83 catalogs. S glass high modulus.
