I recently purchased a vintage W&M Granger trade rod under the name "Old Faithful Rod Company", headquartered in Denver, CO, which was the same address as Granger. The rod is the Granger 8040 with the name "Challenger" on the blank. Granger made these rods from secondary components and less expensive reel seats, and simpler wraps. But it's basically an 8040. I haven't fished this rod yet but I did lawn cast it with both plastic and silk fly lines, and it is really sweet. I'm a happy camper and I can't wait to fish it.
