I've been hunting upland birds in the Okanogan valley with my dogs for 25 years and have seen some great times and some not so great. Last week we hunted at Chiliwist over 2 days and did not find a single partridge or quail. Last year we found numerous coveys of both in the areas we hunted. Same experience hunting on a private ranch near Whitestone Lake where we found two tiny quail coveys. Rancher said he thought the snow killed off the partridge and quail this year. Chiliwist got hammered by 3 feet of snow last December, so maybe the same there? Wondering if this is widespread in the valley. Anyone else have a similar experience in this area with partridge and quail?
