Life of the Party
I went fishing with a good friend (who is a member here, but I’m not sure what he goes by. I should probably ask).
The day started off slow with a few fish caught on leeches. About half way down the lake we saw a mountain goat and spent some time observing it walk the bank.
Shortly after we saw the mountain goat we noticed a lot of midge activity. My friend saw this and started fishing chironomids. He immediately started catching fish. Me on the other hand decided to stick with my trusty leech and got a lot of casting (not catching) practice in. After an hour of getting my you know what handed to me. My friend graciously gave me a few chironomids. I switched over and immediately started catching fish.
My friend caught one of the larger fish I’ve seen come from the lake in a few years.
A throat sample.
It was cold, snowy, wet and a great day on the water!
When I got home I immediately started to tie up some chironomids. Dam you Danny! Now I have to add another fly box in my boat.
