I fished a popular lake in north western washington this morning with @jasmillo
Launched at first light, rowed around the north cove and he quickly hooked 2 from casting from the bow but lost both.
Fishing picked up steadily as we crossed to the other bank, then the shoal. Many medium fish with a few big ones here and there from casting baitfish and bugger patterns.
Made out way further out to the largest section of the lake but it was pretty dead there so we came back to the shoal and picked up a few more fish.
About a dozen fish to the net. Whether it's "fishiness" or luck I don't know which but this guy's got it. I tried unsuccessfully several times last year to get a brown but this guy made it look so easy, a brown and the largest bow of the morning.

It was a good morning. Much better than I expected considering it’s the middle of January. Decent weather, a few very light sprinkles here and there and a mid morning need to break out the sunglasses. I’ll never complain about that in winter in western Washington.

I do appreciate the kind words but I’ll say this; let me do some rowing next time! I tend to do pretty well when we hit lakes together in a single craft because you own boats best used for lakes which means you end up fussing with the rowing or trolling motor as I cast to my hearts content up front! We’ll take my Whaler out next for SRC so I can fuss with the navigation as you cast off the bow.

A good number of bows in this range for both of us.

My first brown of the year. I usually have to wait until my annual spring YNP trip for this…

The biggest bow of the day…

Those bows look very similar to this bow.F76B5DC9-ED5D-4C02-AFB2-94E57F6A44D7.jpeg Which I caught at a popular North West lake last weekend. It was one of 20 that I scratched up that day, no browns though.

Nice job guys, but where was my invite?
