Temps here hit 28 degrees today, big improvement over the last 10 days or so. I checked the river at Ringer and there was no slush in the flows but shelf ice appeared undiminished. Surely there are ice jams still in places but the forecast would suggest "a change is gonna come" soon.
Got back from a quick day and a half of tromping around swinging, frosty out. Apologize for more of the same can't seem to stop snapping the pics, such beautiful country we inhabit. Fished these patterns I had tied in multiple colorways, one solid grab but didn't stick, fun stuff.

Actually kind of good to see this, after several summers of low water in the Res. I see they're actually drawing down (not staying even), suggesting s decent snowpack in the drainage.

True fact. Last year saw a big spike too. Flushes are usually good for a river and it's fish...eventually
Obligatory riverscape Pic along with a few others from this morning. Nice to see some bug life in the side channels and feeder creeks that haven't been as scoured. A nice well defined red hard to see but the undulations in the clean gravel were really pronounced the fish had been busy moving some material. And I hooked a good fish on this pattern and LDR'd it in a root wad just below were I snapped the upstream Pic from also got a good sized cuthroat on it.

I had to be in Colorado Springs this week for work, so traveled a day early and hit the Dream Stream on Saturday afternoon. It's still winter at 8500 feet!
