My wife and I are exploring vacation areas where I can fish and she can still have a good time.
This, our first trip to Kauai. This isn’t in the ‘Trip’ section as fishing was really a secondary thing. I really wanted to try out a Tom Fulk taper that I turned into a 3 pc for easier transport (7wt 9’).
It handled both a WF 7wt and a light presentation style 8wt line well. I lucked out with very little wind. No real fish of any size but a lot of small reef fish. Sorry, no pictures of fish as I dropped my phone in the water the first time I tried and got totally douched by a wave recovering it….not worth doing that again.
Loved Kauai more that the other islands, but maybe a little too quiet for my wife.
