We always have a few around but I’ve never seen this many here at once. Maybe migrants stopping by on their way back north? Anna’s are resident but these look like several Rufous are mixed in. They are on track to drain this whole feeder in one day.

Not quite the giant swarms of Ruby Throats they get during migration down south but still cool to watch.

Skip ahead to the 30sec mark to see the full posse show up.

Up until March my feeder was getting depleted every other day through winter. Then since it’s been every few days until this rain. Holy moly, I’ve filled the feeder twice in the last two days and it’s the tall bottle feeder style.

Normally I don’t get so many Rufuos sticking around but this year is different. Way more Rufuos consistently with seemingly more females. Been some tiny newborns out there too, smaller than my thumb.

Very cool! I haven't seen a Hummingbird around here in years.
