So, I was blessed to have a "generalist" Grandpa that taught me to tie flies (and many other loves) at 12, which lead me down the road until today.
My little brother came over yesterday and was showing me his "Grandpa made" fly tying box. (Asking if anything inside was still good, I said as a museum)
Grandpa made my first vice, and the tools to go along with it.
Here is the homemade hackle pliers (old coat hanger, repurposed), hammered to precision flat on the bench nice.
I will have to dig out the other stuff at my parents house.
