Help with production fly tying

I have a unique dry fly that I need help with. This fly has worked wonders over the years, and I am looking for someone willing to tie. The trick on this fly is to tie an extension with either a pin or monofilament so the fly floats high under tension. I will need several dozen in sizes 6, 8,10, and 12, but I don't have time. Is the wing tied onto the pin/mono that looks to extend over the hook eye?
What pound test mono?
