Well that sucks, guess where the 36% go? That really sounds like a bad deal, normally in my experience stuff going in is sample tested first as part of the procurement and approval process. Wonder if it was old, or NOS. Even though I think my backs on the mend my son's to busy to take the boat out and go fish the chum line for walleye. Past experience shows at 39 the bass don't seem responsive.

As I feared, none left for us. I wonder if this one from last March is my last, as we're closed this year? God willing, hopefully the endemics will flourish. I think the ocean conditions might be on our side.

There are enough things that can result in fish kills at a hatchery that it will always be impossible to prevent them. Over the years however, the school of hard knocks has taught hatchery operators how to reduce the frequency of such events that when they happen now, it makes the news as a big story instead of the old business as usual.
