One of my two indicator lines finally gave up the ghost. Got at least 10 years out of it so no complaints. So time for a new line. My setup is a Sage Salt 6wt, Abel Super 5N reel.
A full 6wt won't fit on that reel even though I have gsp backing so I had cut off a fair bit of the back of the fly line. Which for me isn't a problem since I am not casting indicator rigs 75 ft anyway, So my options are either drop down to a 5wt or stick to a 6 and cut it back. Depends a bit on the line for sure but don't think its a problem casting an indicator rig on that 6wt rod even if the line is a 5wt especially if I get a specific indicator type line. But 6 would be better of course.
So what is y'alls go to floater for indicator rigs? The Rio Elite Stillwater looks pretty sweet.
