Love the scenery at this sub-alpine lake! I'm sure you'll recognize the place if you've been there. The water was nice and cool, about 55 degrees, and very clear (about 25 to 30' of visibility). We could see the small fish swimming around when it was calm.
Had a decent view of Mount Rainier, but not as nice as last week:
We caught lots of small fish in the 6 to 11 inch range (Brookies, westslope cutthroats and maybe a few cutt-bows (not sure about those as they looked like rainbows, but had the orange slash under the throat, but didn't seem to have the spotting of a cutthroat)). It definitely seemed like this lake is over-populated with the fish this year, and the fish were on the thin side. Didn't see any mountain goats, but saw their hoof prints on the trail and on the shoreline of the lake.
