Fall fling

So, this year has been different in many levels (just background, all three of us lost our mom's) and we all needed a mental reset. Our trip was a bit shorter but allowed us to fish 5 lakes, base camp Sun Lakes.

Several lakes were were a disappointment this year and several did better than in many years for us. We all know that lakes cycle, temperature and weather, and summer die off have a drastic effect on catching. Water temps were all 62+ deg. Several lakes had some algae but visibility was still at least 6 feet. We had very little wind that in this area is a plus (a couple nights the trailer got rocked!) We were the only people in several of the lakes, which is always kinda fun.

I also found out that WDFW is doing a water research study on the "Falls" lake. I still believe there is a direct correlation between the Banks lake reseal project and the continued shrinking/lack of water in the "Falls".

Might get one more long trip in after dinner family commitments and garden wrap up.

Tight lines to all!

How does the white plastic "roto mold" dingy work? I've seen them before and thought it might be an option for larger lakes.

Well Mike, I love mine (8 footer) and my buddies that that have 10 footers (they are larger guys) love them as well.

8 footer fits in my truck bed sweet and if you have 2 (like I do for wife and myself) they weigh, without additions, at 71 pounds. I can manage losing and unloading by myself. 10 footers hang over 10 foot bed and start to be a two man job, weighing in at 140 (I believe).

They are stable but NEVER, unless laying across benches, lean forward to untangle a fly from now anchor. Because of the V-bow of the boat will roll over.

Just my $0.02 worth
