Dyeing New Style Fly Lines?

I found a well documented post online about this but after reading through the thread it seems folks might have issues with new coated lines.

Anybody dyed a new line in the last few years that had a coating? Trying to turn an intermediate pale blue/green SA Sonar line a muted olive/brown.

I can’t help you as I haven’t done the new lines. I have done tons of lines with Rit dyes and been extremely satisfied. Just watch your temp and be patient.

Not in the slightest I’m motivated by achievements of which consists of an ever growing todo list.

Bought it at Avid Angler on my way home last week and assumed it was a clear variant. Figure I’ll make the best of the situation.
