Crappy day turns into a great Crappie day

Life of the Party
The day started with high hopes of wild trout recklessly eating hoppers at a mountain lake.
Everything was going as planned, until warning lights in my vehicles dash started flashing bad things.

@WindKnot quickly googled the alarms and we determined it was probably not a good idea to press on to the mountain lake.

Well crud, now what. The warning lights came on right by a well known lake. I have driven by this lake over a 100 times on my way to the mountain lake, but I’ve never stopped to fish it. @WindKnot suggested since we are here, why not try it.
We launched the drift boat and aimlessly wondered around the new to us lake. We went a few hours with out much luck.
Then we found the fish-

It was fast and furious at times-

We also caught some Bass and Bluegill-

@WindKnot put on carp clinic and some how managed to land a few carp on his 5wt-

It was a great day and the warning lights didn’t come on during the drive home. Unexpected goodness.

What a way to turn lemons into lemonaid. Nice lookin' fish. Hope the car is no big deal.

Nice Report. I didn't know that lake had Carp - but no surprise that it does.
