I just got my new glasses and I went all out with transition and polarization.
The wife and I took the dogs, a shotgun on a little drive up to Hemlock lake yesterday afternoon.
We got up to the lake and got the dogs out so they could get wet and have some fun.
The lake was nice and clear enough for me to see down 8 to 10 ft.
As I was looking in the water I spotted a pretty nice trout cursing around over a mud flat. OK, the new glasses are working great.
We put the dogs back in the truck and I get out my little 7.5 ft 3wt.
My first cast is a little short, but the trout comes and takes a look. I cast again on the travel line and when my fly and line land on the water the trout splits.
That was cool.
I walk down the dike away and make a blind cast to open water.
My elk hair caddis is sitting pretty for about a min when a 10" RB comes up and takes my fly.
I release the little guy and cast my line back out then reel right in.
I quit while I'm ahead.
I believe this is the first time in my life I quit after catching the first fish.
I'm happy with the new glasses.
