Trying to spend more time not staring at a screen and I am looking for some (fly) fishing related book recommendations, fiction or non-fiction that aren’t too dense. Thanks ahead of time for y’alls input!
Second these recommendations, The River Why was a great book and pretty good movie! I also liked The Snowfly by Joseph Heywood and Ernest Hemmingway's Nick Adams stories. The River Why by David Duncan is a good read. I enjoyed John Gierach’s books while the kids were in music lessons and at music camps. I’m sure others will have better suggestions.
FINALLY! A mention of Norman Maclean's fabulous book (I loved this book before it became "the movie")."Dark Waters" and "An Angler's Coast" by Russell Chatham.
And another vote for "The River Why" by David Duncan (Did they really make this into a movie??)
Speaking of books made into movies, "A River Runs Through It" by Norman Mclean is a classic.
A wonderful piece of literature, if only I could spell the author's name correctly.FINALLY! A mention of Norman Maclean's fabulous book (I loved this book before it became "the movie").
I've read it twice, about time for a third reading. (I Googled Norman's last name to check on spelling.)A wonderful piece of literature, if only I could spell the author's name correctly.
A River in the Sun by Raymond is a fun book about a mystery on the Deschutes River (mostly fishing related).I second all of the above, but for excellent fly fishing writing with a PNW flavor, you can't beat anything by Steve Raymond.
