@Billy ‘s post about the interesting bite inspired me to post. I’ve simplified my approach to balanced minnows and the fish seem okay with it.

Recipe:
Thread: pond olive ultra thread 140
Hook: #8 60-degree jig, balanced with straight pin and 3.3mm tungsten bead
Tail: cinnamon marabou
Underbody: pearl mylar
Body: UV grey simiseal with a pinch of cinnamon ice dub

Wrap the dubbing brush in wide wraps over the hook shank to let the Mylar show through. You can bulk up the dubbing between the hook eye and the bead. Brush out the dubbing when you’re done. Mix and match colors to your local options.

Go catch fish.
