Baja Madness 2023....Pt. 1 (DIY recon...mostly)

Because I'm a man of few words, this will mostly be a pictoral with a few descriptors here and there. Honestly though, words and photos don't really do this place justice because you just can't smell the smells or taste the air or taste the food or feel the heat....

@PhilR was nice enough to join me for several days of fishing, which worked out perfectly. We flew down on the 17th, he few out on the 22nd, my family flew in on the 22nd, then we flew out on the 29th. Win win win!

Not the worst place in the world....actually, it was nearly perfect for such a trip. a block and a half from the marina and a block and a half from the main plaza.

Day zero was mostly spent checking out the surroundings and making new friends....

Day 1 was spent making sure everything was rigged appropriately and doing a little DIY recon...

I managed to find this little fella willing to play. ON THE BOARD!!! oh yeah!!! This checked a major box for me and DIY from the town beach nonetheless! Now, to find it's larger siblings.

Decent view from one of the town beaches...

It was a great trip, and so glad to be able to tag along. I'm already looking forward to next year.

That sure looks similar to where I fished Baja with Les and his group. But we were targeting Dorado.

Can't wait to see the rest of your report.
Tentatively planning something down that way instead of the AK trip next year.
Any specifics on outfitters/guides/locales appreciated.
