SOLD Allen Xa 8100-4 Rod and Allen Alpha II 7/8 Reel. Price Dropped. $225

Up for sale is a gently used Allen Xa 10’ 8-weight in good condition. The cork shows usual dirt & wear, but otherwise, there isn’t a mark on it. It comes with the factory tube and sock, but the tube was run over by my drift boat trailer (the rod wasn’t in it at the time) and the inner hard plastic sleeve is cracked. You wouldn’t know to look at it from the outside and it still does the job. I only used this rod a handful of times over the years. A great steelhead nymphing stick.

Also up is a matching Allen Alpha II 7/8 reel. (This one is black and sliver, not the fruity colors that Allen is famous for). It’s machined aluminum and has a really nice sealed carbon fiber disc drag. This reel, like the rod, has seen little use. It does have a little bit of boat rash on the frame, however. It will come spooled with 200yds of RIO 20# backing and a brand new, unused SF #8 WF full sinking line. (6 fps). Also comes with the factory neoprene pouch.

I figure $225 OBO shipped is a fair deal. I imagine shipping will likely run me at least $25 or so.

I would consider a trade for a 8’6” or 9’ 10-weight rod. My reason for selling this outfit is to fund a rod/reel for pike. Since moving to MT, there aren’t so many steelhead around, but pike are everywhere.
